I recently presented at the CHI 2024 Conference our paper on "How Much Decision Power Should (A)I Have?: Investigating Patients’ Preferences Towards AI Autonomy in Healthcare Decision Making" co-authored with Niko Vegt, Valentijn Visch, and Marina Bos-De Vos. This work stems from the collaboration between TU Delft and Erasmus MC which aimed at developing Digital Twin-based pregnancy care platform for women with a risk of hypertensive complications. We investigated the level of autonomy that women as patients would prefer to have by themselves and grant to AI in decision-making of their pregnancy care. We highlighted the importance of addressing patient-centeredness in designing AI-powered healthcare decision making. The paper got Honorable Metnion for CHI2024. The paper is available in ACM DL, together with pre-recorded video presentation.
